Join the Albany Gay Men’s Chorus

Updated: Oct 10, 2023

#5 Travel to cool places.

Being a part of the chorus means that sometimes you might have to be on the road somewhere to sing or to participate in regional conferences with other choruses to expand your network and learn new things. If you dislike optional traveling with friends to fabulous destinations and enjoy great socializing workshops and events, you might reconsider joining a chorus.

#4 Make great friends!

Many of the chorus members become lifelong friends. We meet at karaoke, go bowling, play kickball, hockey, and restaurant hop. It's a great place to meet new people and if you're lucky your new partner!

#3 Spreading love and equality through music.

If you don't like joyful tunes, music and a little choreography or volunteering to organize fabulous events and concerts, this is probably not the place for you.

#2 Gain another family

If you don't like making lifelong friends or hanging out with a diverse group of gay men this is not for you. If you also dislike good food, great music, potlucks, karaoke, relaxing barbecues and house parties, you probably should stop reading this blog post.

#1 Volunteering for good causes

If you don't like spending your free time singing or volunteering for good causes and charitable organizations like displaced youth, LGBTQ+ equality and education, HIV awareness and youth education. If you really don’t want to make this world a better place to live in or at least inspire other people to do so, you definitely don’t want to join a chorus!
