About AGMC
In the 2023 Times Union Best of the Capital Region Albany Gay Men's Chorus was chosen as one of the Best Local Musicians/Music Groups. AGMC has grown into a prominent entity within the music scene of Albany, NY, and the surrounding Capital Region since becoming a nonprofit organization in 2017. The Albany Gay Men's Chorus performs a variety of music: choral classics, popular songs, musical theater tunes, American standards, and jazz compositions. The Albany Gay Men's Chorus supports local LGBTQ and LGBTQ-friendly organizations like the Pride Center of the Capital Region, Damien Center, the Capital Area Council of Churches and the Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). AGMC performs two concerts per year, and donates 10% of the proceeds to a charitable organization after each concert.
AGMC Mission
The Albany Gay Men’s Chorus seeks to entertain and enlighten by creating high-quality vocal music in the rich and time-honored tradition of TTBB choral singing. The Chorus strives to promote pride in and acceptance of the LGBTQ community and endeavors to build bridges by making positive contributions to the greater Capital Region.
